Penguin Stuns Global Chess Community

Writer: Ekaterina MacLeodEkaterina MacLeod

We are very proud of an incredible achievement of a 13 year old Desert Penguin Stakhey, who stunned global chess community by DRAWING with the nine-time Lithuanian Chess Champion and 1105 FIDE points higher rated Grand Master!

Phenomenal chess performance by Penguin Stakhey is the biggest global chess upset of the year 2021. Stakhey (world number 113418 with 1418 FIDE rating) outplayed

GM Sarunas Sulkis (world number 589 with 2523 FIDE rating) with black pieces for most of the game. In the end, our veteran Penguin was very happy with his first draw against the Grand Master. Stakhey worked hard and incredibly well under what must have felt like incredible pressure!

We would like to congratulate Penguin Stakhey and wish him best of luck for the rest of the tournament which takes place in Panevezys, Lithuania.

Go Go Go Penguins!
